I have put this web page together to allow you to request a time for advising. Please understand that this is NOT automated - there are a few good reasons for that. It forces me to double check availability and make sure your request gets into my calendar. In addition, the design requirements for a system that prevents someone from scooping up multiple times, allows students to login, delete, and modify appointments, keep appointments confidential, etc., is far beyond the time available to me.
So here is the process. Click on one of the available advising times below. This will pop up an e-mail window allowing you to request the time. After you send the e-mail, I will respond with a message telling you whether you were able to get the available time or not. This will be on a first come first serve basis, so if two people reserve the same time before I am able to update this web page to reflect the change, someone will not be able to get that time. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I figured this would be better than having to come by my office and put your name on a sheet outside my door.
If the computer you are using does not support e-mail, record the time and day you want to meet with me and e-mail me that information from the e-mail account you check most frequently. If you do not get a response within 8 to 10 hours, please e-mail me (tarnoff@etsu.edu) your request again!
IMPORTANT: Please note that the University has two weeks of registration. If you have less than 40 earned credit hours, you will not be able to register until Monday of the second week of registration. Therefore, if you are not a senior or junior, your registration time will be much later. Please try to leave the early advising slots open for the upper classmen. Note that "in progress hours" on Degree Works do not count towards earned hours for registration.
If you want to come earlier or later in the semester, feel free to come by during my office hours. Be sure, however, to email me (tarnoff@etsu.edu) that you're coming for advising and come at least 20 minutes before the end of the scheduled office hour so that we have plenty of time.
